QuikVue Vet Case Share-indolent corneal ulcer
Winni, a Frenchie, developed a severe corneal infection progressing to a deep ulcer unresponsive to topical and systemic antibiotics. A keratectomy removed the infected tissue and improved sampling. The defect was grafted with BioSis bioscaffold (“naked” graft due to heavy vascularization). One week later, vessels increased but no infection; by two weeks, inflammation subsided as the graft absorbed and vessels regressed. Final recheck showed excellent cosmetic and visual outcome.
